Hi everyone, and thanks for taking a moment to click on this blog post. I wanted to address a few things about the direction of this YouTube channel and what you can expect moving forward.
Over the years, my channel has been something of a mixed bag—camera reviews, vlogs, AI explorations, movie reviews, and even random content like reviewing my kids’ bikes. While I’ve enjoyed the creative freedom to explore different topics, I recognize that this eclectic approach may have made it harder for viewers to connect with a clear vision or purpose. Part of this has been my own journey of figuring out what I truly want to create—not just for the channel but as a person. At 32 years old, I’ve struggled with what I’ll call “creative ADHD,” jumping from one passion project to another.
Despite this, I’m grateful that my creativity has been a source of income, allowing me to avoid a traditional 9-to-5 job. But as I get older, I’ve felt a growing desire to focus my energy on something meaningful and aligned with my true passions. This blog post marks a pivotal moment as I share what that focus will be.
The Road to Filmmaking
For over a decade, I’ve been making video content—whether for clients, YouTube, or podcasts. Along the way, I’ve created short-form documentaries (typically 6–15 minutes in length), some of which have won awards. These projects have given me a sense of identity as a filmmaker, though much of my work has been for practical purposes rather than pure creative expression.
From a young age, I’ve dreamed of being a “true filmmaker.” While I’m open to exploring narrative films in the future, my current passion lies in documentary filmmaking. About six or seven years ago, I envisioned creating a film about a person in my hometown. That vision never left me, and now, I’m finally taking the leap to bring it to life.
The Project: A Feature-Length Documentary
I recently met with the subject of this documentary—a lifelong friend and mentor who has an incredible story to tell. At 67 years old, he’s a figure whose story feels urgent to capture. After spending four hours with him (without a camera, as I wanted our initial meeting to be personal), I left feeling deeply moved and inspired. It’s hard to describe how excited I am about this project—it’s unlike anything I’ve done before.
This won’t be just another YouTube upload or a project to share with friends. My goal is to create a feature-length documentary with the potential to reach major platforms like Netflix or Amazon. I’m treating this with the seriousness of a network-level production, and I intend to distribute it on VOD once it’s complete.
Filming is set to begin in early March, once the weather warms up here in Mississippi. This will be my primary focus as a creator, with other work and content supporting this endeavor.
Why Now?
Reflecting on the past 10–12 years, I realize that I’ve been building the skills and experience necessary for this moment. From traveling to learning from other filmmakers, the journey has prepared me in ways I couldn’t have foreseen. While part of me wishes I had started sooner, I believe the timing is right now. Everything I’ve done up to this point has been essential preparation for the road ahead.
What This Means for the Channel
If you’ve been following me for content like AI videos or camera reviews, those topics won’t disappear entirely, but they’ll no longer be the primary focus. This channel is transitioning into a space dedicated to my filmmaking journey, with updates on this documentary and future projects.
For those who share my passion for filmmaking—or are simply curious about the process—I invite you to stick around, subscribe, and join me on this journey. Your support means the world to me.
Looking Ahead
This documentary represents more than just a creative project; it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. I’m determined to make it successful, not just for myself but as a stepping stone to more documentaries and films. I’m excited about what’s to come and grateful for the opportunity to share it with you.
Thank you for reading and for your continued support. Stay tuned for more updates, and here’s to chasing big dreams together!
